North Cave Wetlands – 21/03/2018

A brief morning visit to Main Lake, with mainly sunny conditions and a gentle westerly breeze. Temperatures around five degrees C. The Black-necked Grebe Podiceps nigricollis showed well, the partially frozen northern half of the lake keeping it closer to south hide. It mainly fed along the edge of the ice, occasionally making some forays closer to the hide.
