A sunny morning to early afternoon visit with a gentle south-easterly breeze. Temperature around 20 degrees C.
A few new species (NEW) with Ichneumon cf. suspiciosus found near the Dragonfly Ponds, which will most likely be unattributable to full species level, with around 50 similar look-a-like species. Fly-wise a Opomyza sp. was a new genus recorded. A Lygephila pastinum Blackneck moth caterpillar was a site first for me, found in the long grasses around the seat at the south side of Carp Lake. A few first for the year (NFY) included True Bugs Errastunus ocellaris, Notostira elongata, Scolopostethus thomsoni and Grass Fly Thaumatomyia cf. notata, the latter species not reliably identifiable from a similar species via a photo record.
