Easington – 16/10/2019

A rainy morning wasn’t going do turn up much on the invertebrate front, so decided to head over to Easington to try and see the Red-eyed Vireo Vireo olivaceus that was present there. Wasn’t disappointed, the bird showing regularly every 25 minutes or so, though only briefly, as it took berries from a Dogwood Tree. Despite the poor light I’m very pleased with the result. Also present were a Pied Flycatcher Ficedula hypoleuca favouring the same spot, with Ring Ouzel Turdus torquatus and Brambling Fringilla montifringilla also present nearby.
