Kilsnea and Spurn – 06/11/2019

A sunny morning with a light westerly breeze, temperature around eight degrees C.

Highlights of the day were Phylloscopus proregulus Pallas’s Warbler around the Crown and Anchor car park at Kilnsea showing well, with a few Phylloscopus collybita Chiffchaff also present here. Branta bernicla nigricans Black Brant was on Long Bank Marsh with c.200 Branta bernicla bernicla Dark-bellied Brent Goose, a couple of Cygnus cygnus Whooper Swan in the field to the north. A late Hirundo rustica Swallow was around the Canal Zone. A couple of Saxicola rubicola Stonechat noted along Big Hedge and at the Warren.
