Length 34mm, Wings 55mm 

Male Thorax reddish-brown, and abdomen orange-red. Yellow suffusion to basal half of wings and veins. 

Females  Thorax and abdomen yellow-brown. Yellow suffusion to basal half of wings and veins less extensive than males.

Habitat  Vagrant from Europe, marshy pools, lakes and ditches.

Flight Period June - September.
